Panic Hits PDP Camp Over Tinubu’s Visit To Jonathan, Says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the camp of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been beset with anxiety and panic over the recent visit of its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

In a statement released on Monday by Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, the party accused the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party of hitting the panic button, over the recent visit saying “ the move would not help our candidate”

APC in the statement, berated the opposition party for saying that the move was a ploy by both Tinubu and his running mate to distance themselves from President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged failed administration.

The party also accused PDP of being obsessed with extreme partisanship and lacks the vision and capability to take steps that promote the common good in the country.

“Again, the PDP proves itself as a party afflicted with chronic myopia, lacking in vision and incapable of recognizing the imperative of elevating the common good of our country above partisan quibbles. That party’s obsession with puerile partisanship blinds it to existential and strategic opportunities to heal old wounds, mend fences, and build bridges of national unity and harmony. Sadly, the PDP would rather fan the embers of hate and division.”

Morka said that contrary to the PDP’s claim, Tinubu’s visit was more of a consultation, than a ploy.

“The visit to former President was a strategic move for national unity and cohesion” adding it was a move worthy of commendation and emulation.

“Our party and its Presidential Candidate are seeking the mandate of Nigerians to consolidate on the foundation of restoration and greatness that has been laid across all sectors by the Buhari administration. The PDP and its co-peddlers of hate and disunity cannot stop this noble aspiration,” he said.
