In a much-anticipated move, Netflix has recently announced an array of captivating Nigerian films and series that are set to grace our screens. Among the highly anticipated projects are two groundbreaking series from Mo Abudu’s renowned EbonyLife Studios: “Òlòtūré” and “WAR.”

Confirming speculations that have circulated for years, the eagerly awaited sequel to the studio’s impactful feature on human trafficking has been revealed. This time, the narrative unfolds as a series, propelling the audience into the gripping saga of a young journalist crossing the perilous Benin border.

Her harrowing expedition navigates the treacherous terrains of Niger and Libya, culminating in the Mediterranean, as she battles relentlessly to secure her escape.

Helmed by director Kenneth Gyang, the ensemble cast boasts impressive names such as Sharon Ooja, Omoni Oboli, Beverley Osu, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Stan Nze, Amarachukwu Ono, Bukola Oladipupo, Daniel Etim Effiong, and Patrick Doyle.

The fusion of talent and storytelling promises to deliver a series that captivates and enlightens, shedding light on the horrors of human trafficking while celebrating the strength of the human spirit.

WAR: A Saga of Power, Deceit, and Unyielding Love

“Wraith and Revenge” (WAR) emerges as a spin-off from the well-received “Sons of the Caliphate” series. This fresh narrative follows the ascent of Nuhu Bula to the governorship of Kowa, a journey masterminded by his wife Binta, whose determination knows no bounds. When Binta learns of her husband’s intentions to take a second wife, the saga takes a dramatic turn, as the fury of a scorned woman takes center stage in a battle to safeguard her love.

Intriguingly, Mo Abudu assumes the role of executive producer for the series, accompanied by supervising producer Heidi Uys, and director Dimbo Atiya. The star-studded cast includes Mofe Duncan, Rahama Sadau, Yakubu Mohammed, Patrick Doyle, Ayoola Ayolola, Ifeanyi Kalu, Theresa Edem, Bikiya Graham Douglas, Daniel Okosun, Maikudi “Cashman,” Mickey Odeh, Sophia Muhammed, Uzee Usman, Padita Agu, and Ahide Adum. With such a constellation of talents, “WAR” promises to be an enthralling blend of drama, intrigue, and emotion.
