Nollywood Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo Is Dead, Escaped Death In 2021

Nollywood community has been rocked by another untimely death as actor, Junior Pope Odonwod,  known as Jnr Pope was announced dead.

Junior Pope died while on set in Asaba, Delta State, where he was involved in filming. Reports indicate that the actor lost his life during a boat trip, as the boat tragically capsized, leading to his drowning alongside two other yet-to-be-identified actors.

Efforts to rescue them proved futile, and Junior Pope’s lifeless body was recovered and transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the frantic attempts to revive him, it was confirmed that the talented actor had passed.

Emma Onyemeziem, the Delta State Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, confirmed the news, stating that Junior Pope’s remains had been respectfully deposited in the morgue.

Junior Pope’s passing has left a profound void in Nollywood, robbing the industry of a gifted performer known for his captivating portrayals on screen.

In April 2021, Junior Pope has took to his Instagram page to thank God for saving his life and that of his family after fire gut his house.The actor shared a video of the burnt part of his house showing his electrical circuit all damaged.

Sharing the video, the actor wrote; “Join Me In Thanking God Ooooooooo. My House Almost Went Up In Flames While My Family Slept But GOD Intervened. My Hands Are Clean Oooooooooooo,(Akam di Ocha) God Is The Greatest (final full stop) My family and I are safe.”
