Madein said modalities had been put in place to avert a repeat of the delay experienced in June. She, however, attributed the delay to “difficulties.”

According to her, “For May and June, we encountered some difficulties beyond our control but I can assure you that everything has been put in place to ensure that July 2023 salaries are not delayed and will be paid any moment from now.”

Also speaking at the interactive session, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, assured that workers will smile soon.

Yemi-Esan had responded to questions on palliatives to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on civil servants.

She said that a committee that was set up by the government was looking at the idea of transportation allowances among others.
