NNFM Tops Stock Market Gainers’ List, International Energy Insurance Leads Losers

On Friday, May 16, the stock market saw a 0.22 percent increase in its equity capitalisation, which closed at N68.95 trillion.

This represents a N152,55 billion increase in the market capitalisation, as it rose from N68.80 trillion on Thursday, May 15.

Similarly, the all-share index (ASI) increased by 242.73 basis points from 109,467.64 to 109,710.37 ASI.

Over 431.77 million shares were traded by investors in 16,400 deals, valued at N8.59 billion, against the previous day’s N729.87 million shares traded by investors in 14,743 deals worth N13.87 billion.

Top five gainers

  • NNFM’s share price increased by N10.90 kobo to rise from N109 to N119.90 kobo per share.
  • Trans-Nationwide Express’ share value grew by N0.20 kobo, up from N2 to N2.20 kobo per share.
  • Champion Brew ended trading at N6.82 kobo per share, from N6.20 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.62 kobo.
  • Honeywell Flour gained N1.65 kobo to end trading at N18.15 kobo, having opened with N16.50 kobo.
  • Beta Glass’ share value was up by N21.35 kobo, after closing at N235.05 kobo from N213.70 per share.

Top five losers

  • International Energy Insurance’s share price depreciated by N0.18 kobo, dwindling from N1.88 kobo to N1.70 kobo per share.
  • Multiverse recorded a N0.85 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N8.05 after opening with N8.90 kobo per share.
  • TIP lost N0.58 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N6.80 kobo from N7.38 kobo per share.
  • UPL reported a decline of N0.35 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.75 kobo to end trading at N4.40 kobo per share.
  • Regal Insurance recorded a 6.78 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.55 kobo after opening with N0.59 kobo per share.

  • Access Corporation reported that 320.43 million shares valued at N739.66 million were traded on its floor.
  • GTCO recorded 30.87 million shares valued at N2.09 billion.
  • AIICO saw investors trade 28.93 million of its shares valued at N46.44 million.
  • Universal Insurance recorded 25.01 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N13.03 million.
  • Chams reported 23.81 million shares valued at N54.23 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
