Hagari said Iran launched a large-scale attack of over 180 ballistic missiles directly from Iranian soil into the State of Israel.  He admitted that some of the missiles hit the centre of Israel and some others in southern Israel, but the country and a defense coalition led by the United States intercepted a large number of them.

“Iran’s attack is a severe and dangerous escalation. There will be consequences. our defensive and offensive capabilities are at the highest level of readiness, and our operational plans are ready. We will respond wherever, whenever, and however we choose, in accordance with the directive of the government of Israel,”  IDF spokesperson stated.

He further stated that Iran and its proxies have been attacking Israel since the 7th of October on seven fronts. “Iran and its proxies seek the destruction of Israel,” Hagari claimed.

He further stated that the Israel Defense Forces will continue doing everything necessary to defend the state of Israel and protect the citizens.

Prime Business Africa reports that Iran’s missile attack on Israel was the time in recent months.

On its part, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said the attack was in response to the killing of Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, last week, and that of the Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, some months ago.

Iran said its missile attacks were targeted at three military bases in Tel-Aviv, the capital of Israel.

The latest incident raises fears of a full-scale war in the Middle East following ongoing Israeli attacks in Palestine and Lebanon.
