The Nigerian stock market extended its downward run on Tuesday after the market capitalisation closed at N155.2 trillion.
According to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), the market capitalisation declined from N156.12 trillion recorded on Monday, indicating the bourse lost N922 billion.
The all-share index (ASI) decreased by 1,437.54 basis points to 241,984.8 ASI, from 243,422.34 ASI.

Top Five Gainers
- Conoil’s share price increased by N19, from N194 to N213 per share.
- Prestige’s share value grew by N0.14 kobo, from N1.43 kobo to N1.57 kobo per share.
- Neimeth’s share appreciated by N0.75 kobo, to end trading at N8.45 kobo, having opened with N7.70 kobo.
- ETranzact”s share ended trading at N16.30 kobo per share, from N14.90 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.40 kobo.
- Cornerstone’s share value was up by N0.45 kobo, after closing at N5.40 kobo, from N4.95 kobo per share.
Top Five Losers
- FGSUK2033S6’s share price depreciated by N14, dwindling from N114.99 kobo to N100.99 kobo per share.
- International Energy Insurance recorded a N0.64 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.76 kobo, after opening with N6.40 kobo per share.
- Vitafoam recorded a N21 decline in its share price to end trading at N189, after opening with N210 kobo per share.
- Austin Laz lost N0.43 kobo in its share price, to sell at N3.90 kobo, down from N4.33 kobo per share.
- Sunil Assurance reported a decline of N0.39 kobo, from the previous share price of N3.97 kobo, to end trading at N3.58 kobo per share.

- Sterling Financial Holdings Company reported that 100.9 million shares valued at N782.81 million were traded on its floor.
- UACN recorded 49.37 million shares valued at N9.11 billion.
- Access Holdings saw investors trade 28.76 million of its shares valued at N699.31 million.
- Zenith Bank recorded 24.93 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3 billion.
- GTCO reported that traders exchanged 20.24 million shares valued at N2.64 billion.
