On Tuesday, May 6, the equity capitalisation of the Nigerian stock market increased by N1.04 trillion from N67.06 trillion on Monday, May 5, to N68.10 trillion, after the all-share index (ASI) appreciated by 1.55 percent.
The all-share index had appreciated to 108,361.1 ASI from 106,698.5 index.

Top five gainers
- Nestle’s share price increased by N110 to rise from N1100 kobo to N1210 per share.
- Ecobank’s share value grew by N2.35 kobo, up from N23.50 kobo to N25.85 kobo per share.
- NNFM ended trading at N82.50 kobo per share, from N75 per share – indicating an increase of N7.50 kobo.
- Beta Glass gained N12.05 to end trading at N132.80 kobo, having opened with N120.75 kobo.
- Austin Laz’s share value was up by N0.17 kobo, after closing at N1.88 kobo from N1.71 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- Guinea Insurance’s share price depreciated by 8.70 percent, dwindling from N0.69 kobo to N0.63 kobo per share.
- Daar Communications recorded a 6.78 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.55 kobo after opening with N0.59 kobo per share.
- VFD Group lost N1.20 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N17 from N18.20 kobo per share.
- Wapic reported a decline of N0.13 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N2.14 kobo to end trading at N2.01 per share.
- Regal Insurance recorded a 4.69 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.61 kobo after opening with N0.64 kobo per share.
