Nigerian Airline Founder Onyema Marks Birthday with Praise for Aviation Impact

March 29, 2026

Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, chairman and chief executive officer of Air Peace Limited, marked his birthday on Saturday drawing tributes highlighting his role in Nigeria’s aviation sector and national development.

Onyema, who founded Air Peace in 2014 with a small fleet, has overseen its growth into one of the largest airlines in West and Central Africa. Supporters credit him with expanding domestic and international routes, increasing competition and helping to lower airfares, particularly on routes between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Beyond aviation, Onyema has been recognised for peace advocacy efforts, including youth training initiatives aimed at promoting national unity.
His airline has also been involved in evacuating Nigerians during crises abroad.
In messages marking the occasion, well-wishers described him as a businessman and patriot whose contributions have had a broad impact on transportation and humanitarian efforts in the country.
