NGX Recovers With N751bn Gain, Traders Seal Over 60k Deals

NGX Market Cap Down By N606bn, Traders Seal N50bn Deals

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed at N152.83 trillion on Monday, up from N152.08 trillion on Friday, representing a N751.96 billion increase.

Data obtained from the stock market showed that the increase on Monday was driven by the 1,084 basis points gained by the all-share index (ASI), as it expanded from 237,119.11 index to 238,203.11 ASI.

Trading ended with investors exchanging N36.49 billion in 63,567 deals for 475,81 million shares, compared to Friday’s N19.39 billion traded in 46,813 deals for 397.89 million shares.

Top Five Gainers

  • First HoldCo’s share price increased by N5.50 kobo, from N55 to N60.50 kobo per share.
  • GTCO’s share value grew by N11.55 kobo, from N115.55 kobo to N127.10 kobo per share.
  • International Energy Insurance’s share appreciated by N0.50 kobo, to end trading at N5.56 kobo, having opened with N5.06.
  • McNichols’ share ended trading at N7.45 kobo per share, from N6.80 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.65 kobo.
  • Zenith Bank’s share value was up by N7.80 kobo, after closing at N117.80 kobo, from N110 per share.

Top Five Losers

  • Zichis’ share price depreciated by N2.60 kobo, dwindling from N26 to N23.40 kobo per share.
  • TAJSUKS2 recorded a N9.97 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N90.01, after opening with N99.99 kobo.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance recorded a N0.71 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.43 kobo, after opening with N7.14 kobo per share.
  • Eterna lost N3.05 in its share price, to sell at N27.75 kobo, down from N30.80 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital reported a decline of N0.48 kobo, from the previous share price of N4.89 kobo, to end trading at N4.41 kobo per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 48.73 million shares valued at N894.21 million were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 42.28 million shares valued at N1.69 billion.
  • Access Holdings saw investors trade 39.25 million of its shares valued at N886.12 million.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 30.04 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3.45 billion.
  • MTN Nigeria reported that traders exchanged 20.82 million shares valued at N16.59 billion.
