NGX Rebounds With N104bn Gain, RT Briscoe, Fortis Global Lead Recovery

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed trading at N155.08 trillion on Friday, above the N154.97 trillion recorded on Thursday.

NGX’s market capitalisation increased by N104.23 billion as the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 161.44 basis points, from 240,037.8 ASI to 240,199.24 ASI.

On Friday, equity traders exchanged 395.37 million shares in 36,125 deals, valued at N35.26 billion, compared to the 2.87 billion shares traded in 34,725 deals, valued at N33.99 billion on Thursday.

Top Five Gainers

  • RT Briscoe’s share price increased by N1.05, from N10.90 kobo to N11.95 kobo per share.
  • Fortis Global Insurance’s share ended trading at N2 per share, from N1.85 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.15 kobo.
  • Trans-Nationwide Express share value grew by N0.24 kobo, from N3.06 kobo to N3.30 kobo per share.
  • Meyer’s share appreciated by N0.90 kobo to end trading at N15.95 kobo, having opened with N15.05.
  • Aradel share value was up by N74.20 kobo, after closing at N1,374.20 kobo, from N1,300 per share.

Top Five Losers

  • International Energy Insurance’s share price depreciated by N0.43 kobo, dwindling from N4.30 kobo to N3.87 kobo per share.
  • Omatek recorded a N0.15 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N1.42 kobo, after opening with N1.57 kobo.
  • FGSUK2033S6 reported a N9.16 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N100.49 kobo, after opening with N109.66 per share.
  • McNichols lost N0.35 kobo in its share price, to sell at N4.85 kobo, down from N5.20 kobo per share.
  • UPDC reported a decline of N0.20 kobo, from the previous share price of N3.55 kobo, to end trading at N3.35 kobo per share.

  • NGX Group reported that 36.65 million shares valued at N4.54 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Sterling Financial Holdings Company recorded 32.75 million shares valued at N243.91 million.
  • First HoldCo saw investors trade 32.42 million of its shares valued at N4.20 billion.
  • Access Holdings recorded 22.90 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N616.74 million.
  • UBA reported that traders exchanged 19.67 million shares valued at N885.14 million.
