The all-share index (ASI) of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) expanded to 160,806.56 ASI on Thursday, January 8, from the 160,591.76 ASI reported on Wednesday, January 7, representing a 214.8 basis points gain.
According to the NGX, the 0.13 percent appreciation in the ASI led to an increase of N137.34 billion in the stock market’s capitalisation, as the bourse’s valuation grew from N102.68 trillion to N102.82 trillion.

- FGSUK2031S4’s share price increased by N11.95 kobo to rise from N78.04 to N89.99 kobo per share.
- Neimeth’s share value grew by N0.70 kobo, from N7 to N7.70 kobo per share.
- May & Baker ended trading at N26.20 kobo per share, from N23.85 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N2.35 kobo.
- ETranzact gained N1.20 kobo to end trading at N13.65 kobo, having opened with N12.45 kobo.
- Multiverse’s share value was up by N1.85 kobo, after closing at N21.30 kobo from N19.45 kobo per share.

- International Energy Insurance’s share price depreciated by N0.30 kobo, dwindling from N3.03 to N2.73 kobo per share.
- Associated Bus Company recorded a N0.49 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.47 kobo after opening with N4.96 kobo per share.
- Austin Laz lost N0.50 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N4.58 kobo from N5.08 per share.
- Conoil recorded a N18.20 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N169 after opening with N187.20 kobo per share.
- Veritas Kapital reported a decline of N0.19 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N1.96 kobo to end trading at N1.77 kobo per share.

- Chams reported that 60.46 million shares valued at N236.81 million were traded on its floor.
- Linkage Assurance recorded 54.11 million shares valued at N97.61 million.
- Tantalizer saw investors trade 44.96 million of its shares valued at N129.71 million.
- Access Holdings recorded 35.52 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N815.42 million.
- Champion Brew reported 31.29 million shares valued at N519.09 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
