NDC spokesperson Osa Director, Esq., made the allegations in a statement issued on Friday.
The party described the alleged display of affluence as insensitive to the plight of Nigerians, arguing that it highlighted what it called the Tinubu administration’s growing disconnect from citizens.
The NDC said the government continued to ask Nigerians to endure the hardship arising from its economic policies while, according to the party, political allies and supporters enjoyed lavish lifestyles.
“This is the same government that keeps asking Nigerians to endure the pain its own policies have inflicted, while it lives in opulence and squanders taxpayers’ money on lavish lifestyles,” the party said.
The opposition party further accused the Tinubu administration of prioritising the interests of a privileged political class over the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
“Nigeria cannot continue to sink in abject poverty while the Tinubu administration funds the luxurious living of a few corrupt and incompetent politicians,” it said.

The NDC warned that the country was “at a precipice” and called on Nigerians to reject what it described as wasteful spending and the extravagant lifestyle of a privileged few.
It urged voters to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2027 general elections, arguing that electoral change was necessary to alter the country’s direction.
The party also contrasted its presidential candidate’s approach to public spending with what it described as the APC administration’s wastefulness.
“Nigerians can attest to our presidential candidate’s zero tolerance for government waste,” Director said.
He added that “the judicious use of the people’s resources will be guaranteed” if the party’s candidate assumed office.
