Music Producer Rexxie Calls For Help Following Arrest In Uganda

The arrest of Nigerian music producer Rexxie in Uganda has sent wave of concern among his fans and followers. Rexxie took to his Instagram page on Monday, March 11, 2024, to disclose his detention by Ugandan immigration officers, pleading for help. “I’ve been arrested at the Ugandan Immigration, please I need help,” he wrote in his post.

The timing of Rexxie’s arrest is notably poignant, occurring shortly after his joyous announcement of his engagement to Innocent Chisom in Kenya, shared with his followers on Instagram.

Despite the outpouring of concern and support from fans, Rexxie has remained silent on social media since his appeal for assistance.

This incident reflects a recurring pattern of Nigerian artists encountering legal issues in Uganda. Notably, in 2020, singers Tems and Omah Lay were arrested for violating COVID-19 regulations by performing at an unauthorized concert. They were detained briefly before facing court charges and eventual release.

Rexxie’s plea for aid underscores the need for transparency and swift intervention in such situations involving international artists.

As his followers await updates on his situation, the spotlight once again falls on the complexities of navigating legal systems across borders in the music industry.
