Market Cap Rises N1.08 billion, As Nigerian Stocks’ Growth Slows

At the end of trading on Tuesday, the market capitalisation rose by over N1.08 billion to settle at N26.768 trillion, when compared to the N26.767 trillion it closed Monday with.

It followed the All-Share Index’s path, which moved upward by 2.01 basis points to rise to 49,627.72 ASI from 49,625.71 ASI. 

Investors parted with N1.48 billion on Tuesday to trade over 160.24 million shares in 3,847 deals, against the 86.59 million shares exchanged in 3,377 deals worth N1.17 billion a day before.

Top five gainers

  • Multiverse share appreciated by N0.25kobo to rise from N2.58kobo to N2.83kobo per.
  • NPF Microfinance stock grew N0.12kobo, up from N1.53kobo to N1.65kobo per share.
  • Pharmdeko ended trading with N2.05 from N1.95kobo per share, rising by N0.10kobo.
  • Cutix gained N0.11kobo to end trading at N2.26kobo, having opened with N2.15kobo.
  • Fidelity Bank stock was up by N0.10kobo, closing with N3.41kobo from N3.31kobo per share. 

Top five losers

  • Redstar Express depreciated by N0.27kobo, dwindling from N2.70kobo to N2.43kobo per share.
  • Caverton also fell by 4.55 percent to end trading at N1.05, after opening with N1.10kobo per share.
  • Livestock followed the same path, losing 4.31 percent after trading hours, to sell at N1.11kobo from N1.16kobo per share.
  • Sovereign Insurance reported a decline of 3.70 percent from previous day’s share price of N0.27kobo to end trading at N0.26kobo per share.
  • Lasaco Insurance share depreciated to N0.93kobo from N0.96kobo, after losing 3.13 percent during trading hours.   

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

  • Zenith Bank reported 26.73 million shares valued at N536.64 million were traded on its floor.
  • Courtville recorded 24.10 million shares valued at N11.32 million.
  • Transcorp saw investors trade 16.24 million of its shares valued at N16.99 million.
  • InteneIns recorded 12.76 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N20.42 million.
  • Chams reported 9.31 million shares valued at N3.22 million exchanged investors’ hands.
