Linkage Assurance, Ikeja Hotel, Others Lift NGX Market Cap By N111bn

The equity market closed in positive territory for the second time this week as stocks rose by 0.04%. Investors traded N15.07bn worth of shares.

On Thursday, November 27, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited’s market capitalisation rose to N91.10 trillion, from the N90.99 trillion recorded on Wednesday, November 26 — indicating a gain of N111.08 billion.

The 0.12 percent increase in NGX’s market valuation was driven by the 174.66 basis points gained by the all-share index (ASI), which appreciated from 143,064.57 ASI to 143,239.23 ASI.

Investors in the stock market traded 324.55 million shares, worth N13.05 billion, in 18,328 deals, compared to the previous day’s 738.35 million shares exchanged in 19,919 deals, valued at N35.53 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Linkage Assurance’s share price increased by N0.17 kobo to rise from N1.70 kobo to N1.87 kobo per share.
  • Ikeja Hotel’s share value grew by N2.50 kobo, from N25 to N27.50 kobo per share.
  • Learn Africa ended trading at N5.74 kobo per share, from N5.22 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.52 kobo.
  • NCR gained N4.95 kobo to end trading at N54.65 kobo, having opened with N49.70 kobo.
  • Union Dicon’s share value was up by N0.60 kobo, after closing at N6.90 kobo from N6.30 kobo per share.

  • Champion Brew’s share price depreciated by N1.35 kobo, dwindling from N13.70 kobo to N12.35 kobo per share.
  • Sterling Financial recorded a N0.65 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.15 kobo after opening with N7.80 kobo per share.
  • UPDC lost N0.45 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N5.02 from N5.47 kobo per share.
  • C&I Leasing recorded a N0.27 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.32 kobo after opening with N5.59 kobo per share.
  • Guinea Insurance reported a decline of 4.35 percent from the previous day’s share price of N1.15 kobo to end trading at N1.10 kobo per share.

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 32.19 million shares valued at N615.14 million were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 28.21 million shares valued at N1.02 billion.
  • GTCO saw investors trade 26.19 million of its shares valued at N2.26 billion.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 24.55 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.48 billion.
  • Access Corporation reported 14.44 million shares valued at N302.01 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
