Over N945.20 billion was added to the capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, also known as the Nigerian stock market, after the shares of Guinness, Morison, and others appreciated on Friday, December 12.
This raised the market capitalisation of the Nigerian stock market to N95.26 trillion, up from the N94.31 trillion reached on Thursday, December 11.

The stock market ended with investors exchanging 571.68 million shares in 20,418 deals, valued at N29.04 billion, against the 529.70 million shares exchanged by equity traders the day before, in 18,159 deals, valued at N12.31 billion.
Top five gainers
- Guinness’ share price increased by N19.80 kobo to rise from N198 to N217.80 kobo per share.
- Morison’s share value grew by N0.42 kobo, from N4.27 kobo to N4.69 per share.
- Champion Brew ended trading at N14.15 kobo per share, from N12.90 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.25 kobo.
- Austin Laz gained N0.20 kobo to end trading at N2.27 kobo, having opened with N2.07 kobo.
- C&I Leasing’s share value was up by N0.50 kobo, after closing at N5.70 kobo from N5.20 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- ETranzact’s share price depreciated by N1.40 kobo, dwindling from N14 to N12.60 kobo per share.
- Chellaram recorded a N1.45 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N13.20 kobo after opening with N14.65 kobo per share.
- Eunisell lost N8.25 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N75.15 kobo from N83.40 kobo per share.
- African Prudential recorded a N1.30 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N12 after opening with N13.30 kobo per share.
- DAAR Communications reported a decline of 9.18 percent from the previous day’s share price of N0.98 kobo to end trading at N0.89 kobo per share.

- Access Corporation reported that 106.07 million shares valued at N2.13 billion were traded on its floor.
- Consolidated Hallmark Insurance recorded 59.87 million shares valued at N245.78 million.
- Transcorp Power saw investors trade 42.79 million of its shares valued at N13.12 million.
- Zenith Bank recorded 37.67 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.41 billion.
- Champion Brew reported 36.43 million shares valued at N510.15 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
