Funke Akindele Unveils Cast For Upcoming Film ‘Finding Me’

Nollywood actress, filmmaker and producer Funke Akindele, has announced the full cast of her highly anticipated film, “Finding Me”. Over a two-week period from May 14 to May 28, 2024, Akindele has been sharing the cast members via Instagram Reels.

The cast lineup revealed so far includes Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Calabar Chic, Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Abdulgafar Abiola (Cute Abiola), Omowunmi Dada, Efa Iwara, Tina Mbai, Dele Odule, Sharon Ooja Egwurube, Shaffy Bello, Omoni Oboli, Femi Adebayo, and Joseph Benjamin. Akindele herself will also feature in the film.

Despite the excitement, specific details about the film’s plot and its release date have yet to be disclosed. The film is being produced by The Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), Akindele’s own production company. Her previous works include “A Tribe Called Judah”, which earned over ₦1.4 billion, “Battle on Buka Street” with ₦668 million, and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga”, which grossed ₦636 million.

In addition to “Finding Me”, Akindele has also announced a new instalment to the fan- favourite ‘Jenifa’ franchise, titled “Everybody Loves Jenifa”, set to premiere in December 2024. She expressed her enthusiasm for this project, exclaiming, “Been long you saw Jenifa!!!!”

Akindele’s contributions to Nollywood have not gone unnoticed. She is the most-awarded actress at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), with accolades including Best Actress in a Comedy for “The Return of Sheri Koko” (2014), “Jenifa’s Diary” (2016, 2017, 2020), and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga” (2022).
