The Premier League on its official website Monday night released a line up of eleven players that produced exceptional individual performances over the weekend in in their clubs’ league matches.
The team on Matchday 30 in the English topflight was picked by Premier League icon and former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer.
Shearer remains the current all-time leading scorer in the history of the Premier League with 260 goals.
The players under review are either Super Eagles eligible players or have represented other nations at international levels before now.
In defence, Angelo Ogbonna was rock solid as West Ham defeated Fulham 1-0 away at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Midfielder Eberechi Eze who is widely considered as what the Super Eagles attacking midfield needs, scored a brilliant goal, the third of the game as Crystal Palace mauled Leeds United 5-1 at Elland Road to secure their second consecutive win in manager Roy Hodgson’s return to Selhurst Park.
Phillip Anyanwu Biliing who has represented Denmark at the international level despite the best efforts of former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel to convince the football authorities in Nigeria to cap the lanky star for Nigeria scored Bournemouth’s goal in the 1-0 defeat of Leicester City at the King Power stadium.
To round off the good weekend of players that could or should have played for Nigeria is Michael Olise who assisted three of Crystal Palace’s goals in the 5-1 rout of Leeds United.
