Former Flying Eagles Coach Warns Osimhen To Beware Of Saudi Arabian Clubs

July 7, 2023

Former Flying Eagles coach John Obuh hopes Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen do not yield to pressure of leaving Italian Serie A champions, SS Napoli in chase of the riches in the Saudi Arabian league.

Osimhen scored 26 league goals in the Italian top flight last season and five more in Cup competitions as the Naples side won the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

“Osimhen has opportunities to build empire for himself. He has time unlike those going to Saudi. Let him repeat the goal-scoring feat that he had last season, Obuh told Brila FM, Lagos.

“Let the next contract that he will sign not be long – not more than two years. If he can do that, people will say Osimhen has arrived.

“It depend on what Osimhen wants. Let him not be under intense pressure. He has to think about it very well,” Obuh stressed.

The 2023-24 season in Italy will begin on August 20 but with Manchester United, Chelsea Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Arsenal showing interest in the Nigerian marksman, it is not sure where he will play his football next season.
