Manchester United beat Liverpool 4-3 on Sunday evening after 120 minutes in a thrilling quarterfinal clash to reach the semifinals of the competition where they have been drawn to face Championship side Coventry City, reports Prime Business Africa.

The victory over Jurgen Klopp’s men means that the Reds’ quadruple dreams have been ended after a late winner by Amad Diallo sent wild scenes at Old Trafford.

Scott Mctominay put United ahead in the 10th minute as he bundled in the ball from a rebound when Andre Onana pushed out a shot onto the path of the Scott.

Wataru Endo guided Salah’s cutback neatly into United’s bottom corner but VAR confirmed the linesman’s offside call.

Endo guided the ball into the net from a Mohamed Salah pass but that did not ultimately restore parity for the Reds as the VAR ruled the goal out after an offside call.

Alexis Mac Allister however found the bottom corner after he was teed up by Darwin Nunez just before the half time break.

In the second half, Liverpool scored again through Mohamed Salah to make it 2-1 but second substitute for United – Anthony restored parity for United.

The game went into extra time and Harvey Elliott put the Reds in front again but Amad Diallo won it for Erik Ten Hag after Rashford had earlier missed from close range.
