#EndSARS 3rd Anniversary: Nigerian Celebrities Commemorate Victims

Three years have passed since a tragic incident unfolded at the Lekki Tollgate, where peaceful protesters seeking change were met with violence. In memory of the victims of police brutality and the #EndSARS protests that shook Nigeria in 2020, the nation’s celebrities have come together to honour their memory and demand justice.

Renowned actor and activist Mr. Macaroni played a pivotal role in organizing a peaceful walk to commemorate the Lekki Massacre victims on October 20, 2023. His social media post rallying support for the event expressed unwavering commitment:

“3 Years now!!! We will Never Forget!!! #EndSARS!!!! We will be walking peacefully to honour all those who lost their lives on 20/10/2020!!! We also walk for all those who have lost their lives as a result of police brutality in Nigeria!!! We walk in peace!!! We will never forget!” During the march, he passionately voiced the need for justice for the unreleased peaceful protesters arrested in 2020.

Her poignant message conveyed a resolute commitment: “We will remember protesters who were killed and continue to fight in the #EndSARS movement for as long as the police do not stop killing Nigerians.”
