The market capitalisation of the Nigerian bourse grew by N240.15 billion after the all-share index (ASI) appreciated by 0.35 percent on Thursday, May 8.
This increased the equity capitalisation from N68.41 trillion on Wednesday, May 7, to N68.65 trillion.

Similarly, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated by 488.73 index points from 108,361.1 ASI to 108,849.83 ASI.
Over N554.06 million were exchanged in 16,704 deals, valued at N14,34 billion, against Wednesday’s 587,47 million shares, traded in 17,496 deals, at a value of N18,65 billion.
Top five gainers
Chellaram’s share price increased by N0.86 kobo to rise from N8.60 kobo to N9.46 kobo per share.
Beta Glass’ share value grew by N14.60 kobo, up from N146.05 to N160.65 kobo per share.
International Energy Insurance ended trading at N1.66 kobo per share, from N1.51 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.15 kobo.
May and Baker gained N0.90 kobo to end trading at N10.10 kobo, having opened with N9.20 kobo.
Academy’s share value was up by N0.35 kobo, after closing at N3.93 kobo from N3.58 kobo per share.

Abbey Mortgage Bank’s share price depreciated by N0.83 kobo, dwindling from N8.30 kobo to N7.47 per share.
Livestock recorded a N0.85 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.85 kobo after opening with N8.70 kobo per share.
Legend Internet lost N0.85 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N9.15 kobo from N10 per share.
Deap Capital reported a decline of 6.48 percent from the previous day’s share price of N1.08 to end trading at N1.01 per share.
VFD Group recorded a N1 decline in its share price to end trading at N16 after opening with N17 per share.

Fidelity Bank reported that 69.75 million shares valued at N1.4 billion were traded on its floor.
Access Corporation recorded 65.76 million shares valued at N1.43 billion.
Tantalizer saw investors trade 55.05 million of its shares valued at N126.75 million.
GTCO recorded 45.97 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3.1 billion.
First HoldCo reported 22.7 million shares valued at N571.6 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
