The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a unanimous endorsement of FIFA President Gianni Infantino for re-election ahead of the 2027–2031 term, following a high-level meeting of its 54 member associations held on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, in Vancouver, Canada.
The meeting was convened by CAF President Patrice Motsepe on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress, bringing together representatives of all African football associations to deliberate on governance and strategic alignment within world football’s governing structure.
According to CAF, the resolution to back Infantino was reached collectively, with all 54 member associations agreeing to support his continued leadership of FIFA into the next electoral cycle.

The endorsement effectively consolidates a significant voting bloc within FIFA, where CAF represents one of the largest continental groupings in the global federation’s 211-member structure.
