Ezuka SharonGovernor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has lost his Senatorial ambition to Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While Ortom polled 106,882 votes, Zam had 143,151 votes, and Mark Gbillah, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, garnered 51,950 votes.
The results were announced by the Senatorial Collation Officer, Prof. Rufus Shaa’to in Makurdi, the state capital.
Results from various polling units, ward and local government area collation centres across the senatorial district indicated that the governor lost in 6 out of the 7 local government councils winning in only his Guma local government.
Zam was the senator-elect was Ortom’s Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during his first tenure.

Announcing the results at the senatorial district headquarters at North Bank, Makurdi, the returning officer, Professor Rufus Shato declared the candidate of APC, Titus Zam winner of the Senatorial election.
Meanwhile, senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party has won his re-election into the Senate.s
Moro polled 76,459 votes to defeat his closest rival of the APC, Daniel Onjeh who scored 59,959 while the LP candidate, Joe Ojobo scored 40,194
The electoral officer of Benue South senatorial district, Prof Robert Tee, declared Moro the winner of the election.
