In an eleventh-hour effort to thwart the imminent nationwide strike scheduled to commence on October 3, the Federal Government has hastily convened a meeting with the top brass of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

The government had originally planned the meeting for noon today but made a later arrangement, rescheduling it to the evening. This adjustment was made to accommodate Organized Labour’s need to reach out to their leaders who are based outside Abuja.

The revised meeting is now slated to take place this evening at the Aso Villa.

Both the NLC and TUC are expected to be in attendance as invitations was conveyed through the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
