ANAMBRA 2021: INEC Releases List Of Candidates For Election

AHEAD of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the poll.

The electoral body has consequently pasted the list at its state office in Awka, Anambra State.

INEC has equally presented the final list of voters to all political parties participating in the election.

In a statement issued by INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said the two activities (publication of the list of candidates and list of voters) conducted were in line with the timetable and schedule of activities designed by the commission for the election.

Okoye also stated that the commission will on Friday 8th October, hold an emergency consultative meeting with leaders of all the registered political parties at the commission’s office Headquarters in Abuja to discuss issues bordering on how to conduct a free fair, and credible election.

“The Commission further assures the people of Anambra State of its resolve to secure the preparation processes for the conduct of the Governorship election and ensure that their right to vote in a safe and secure environment is guaranteed,” Okoye stated.
