Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Soludo has debunked rumour that he was denied entry to the VIP wing in the Eagle Square during Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration on Monday, 29 May.

A video trending online showed Soludo interfacing with some security officials at a VIP wing in Eagle Square and was later redirected to another side of the venue. However, a narrative accompanying the video that has now gone viral claimed that the governor was thrown out of the venue.

Reacting to that, Press Secretary to the governor, Christian Aburime said Soludo was not treated in a condescending manner by anyone but was simply, courteously by protocol officials to the rightful position reserved for him.

He called on members of the public to disregard the video, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers, who are mischievously misleading people about what truly happened.

The statement read: “A very mischievous and misleading video is currently been circulated online by some mischief makers who derive pleasure in misinforming the general public

“The video shows Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, arriving the Eagle Square for the Presidential swearing-in ceremony in Abuja and was subsequently being re-directed courteously by protocol officials to the rightful position reserved for him at the other side of the VIPs sitting positions.

“Redirecting invited guests to their rightful sitting position is neither an issue nor a condescending act

“For the records, Governor Soludo remains one of the few Governors that was respectfully honoured and invited officially to attend the presidential swearing-in ceremony

“Consequently, we call on the general public to disregard the trending video. It is pure mischief and a deliberate act to misinform the public
