REVEALED: U.S Security Personnel Were Attacked In Ogbaru

Prime Business Africa reports that the United States Security Advance team was actually attacked in Ogbaru in Anambra state. A ranking government official confirmed this to PBA Correspondent on Tuesday night.

The source said the police had finally confirmed that the incident actually took place in Ogbaru, a riverine area of the State.

Following the report of the incident which first appeared on www.primebusiness.africa, a U.S Mission Nigeria Spokesperson had confirmed that its security advance team was attacked. The official did not say if any of the attacked personnel were killed, although other reliable sources disclosed that not less than four people were killed.

Breaking: US Security Advance Team Attacked In Anambra, 4 Feared Killed.

An official quoted the Police in Anambra as confirming that “there were shootings in Ogabru” and that its men were working to put the situation under control. According to the source, “The police will issue a statement at appropriate time.

The U.S Nigeria Mission spokesperson had said that the security of the U.S. Mission personnel was paramount and that it took extensive precautions when organizing trips to the field.

  “U.S. Mission Nigeria personnel are working with Nigerian security services to investigate.  The security of our personnel is always paramount, and we take extensive precautions when organizing trips to the field.  We have no further comment at this time.”

The attack took place on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the unfortunate attack.
