Election: Air Peace Suspends Flight, Customers To Earn Points For Tickets

More Calls For Air Peace To Be Designated A Flag Carrier As Airline Increases Routes

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has disclosed that it will suspend flight operations due to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

Air Peace in a statement published via its official Instagram handle, said the operation will be suspended on Saturday, 25 February 2023.

The airline said the operation will resume after the election, on Sunday, 26 February 2023, Air Peace informed its customers on the social media platform. 

“Members of the public are hereby informed that there will be no scheduled flights on February 25, 2023, due to the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections. 

“Scheduled flight operations resume on Sunday, February 26, 2023,” the statement from Air Peace on Instagram reads. 

Air Peace is Nigeria’s international carrier, flying to over 30 destinations in several West African and Middle East countries. 

The international service offered by the airline owned by Allen Onyema spreads across United Arab Emirates (UAE), London, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Senegal, and Sierra Leone, amongst others. 

Following the resumption of Air Peace’s flight operation, Prime Business Africa understands Nigerians can access the ‘Peace Advantage’ initiative, which is a loyalty program that enables air passengers to earn peace points that could be redeemed through air travel tickets or other rewards.

To access the benefits of Air Peace Advantage or become a member, air passengers must have “flown with Air Peace three or more times,” a web statement by the company revealed. 

The statement also reads that the loyalty program is only open to 16 years and above air passengers, while persons below are included in the family card. 

“Any passenger aged 16 years or older can register to be a member. No registrations are accepted for ages between 0 and 16. Such members are accommodated on the family card.” 

Air Peace also explained that the points can be used to upgrade from one cabin class to another.
