Prime Business Africa gathered that the robbery attack occurred on Sunday, 12 February 2023. The attack caused chaos within the areas.

Chicken Republic, in a statement, confirmed the armed robbers shot someone at the fast-food outlet, disclosing that the victim is receiving medical attention.

“Earlier today, a member of our team was shot at our Admiralty Lekki 1 Branch, in an attempted robbery. He is currently receiving medical attention and we ask that you join us to pray for his recovery.

“We are deeply saddened by this despicable act of violence and are already working with the police to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book. Our efforts remain consistent in ensuring our outlets are secured nationwide,” the management wrote in a statement.

According to a Twitter user, @OriesiVapor, who was driving by the axis during the robbery, he wrote: “I was driving by after church on my way back home, then suddenly heard a gunshot from the area and saw people running out of the restaurant.

“I don’t exactly know what happened. It seems that I also saw a body on the floor through the entrance.”

Another Twitter user, @Cyrus TD, said he heard the gunshot on his way to the restaurant, but thought it was a tyre burst

“I was headed towards there when I heard the shot, I thought it was a tyre burst sound, I later found out that it was a robbery,” Cyrus wrote.

Meanwhile, seven months ago, armed robbers had also attacked Chicken Republic’s branch at Dawaki/Dutse, an area in Abuja.

The customers were robbed of their cars, phones, money and other items on July 28, 2022.
