Investors Pocket N192.71bn, As Nigerian Stock Exchange Rises By 0.69%

NGX: Investors Gain N313bn As ASI Rebound By 0.70%

Investors closed trading on Friday with N192.71 billion gain, after the market capitalisation rose by 0.69 per cent from Thursday’s N27.70 trillion to N27.89 trillion.

The growth was driven by the All Share Index which appreciated from 50,868.52 ASI to 51,222.34 ASI, after gaining 353.82 basis points at the end of trading.

Over 195.73 million shares were traded in 3,650 deals worth N7.44 billion on Friday. It was in contrast to the 138.71 million shares exchanged on Thursday in 3,673 deals worth N1.82 billion. 

Top five gainers 

NPF Microfinance share appreciated by N0.15kobo to rise from N1.57kobo to N1.72kobo per share  

Neimeth grew by N0.12kobo, up from N1.43kobo to N1.55kobo per share  

Eterna ended trading with N7.20kobo from N6.82kobo per share, rising by N0.38kobo. 

NGX Group gained N1.30kobo to end trading at N25.40kobo, having opened with N24.10kobo 

Wapic stock was up by 4.88 per cent, closing with N0.43kobo from N0.41kobo per share 

Top five losers 

PZ depreciated by N1.10kobo, dwindling from N12.10kobo to N11 per share. 

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance also fell by 7.69 per cent to end trading at N0.60kobo, after opening with N0.65kobo per share. 

FTN Cocoa followed the same path, losing 6.67 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.28kobo from N0.30kobo per share.  

Champion Brew reported a decline of N0.26kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.90kobo to end trading at N4.64kobo per share. 

Academy share depreciated to N1.25kobo from N1.32kobo, after losing 5.30 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in stock exchange 

FBN Holdings reported 41.89 million shares valued at N466.50 million were traded on its floor  

BUA Cement recorded 30.19 million shares valued at N2.89 billion 

UBA saw investors trade 17.32 million of its shares valued at N140.23 million 

Access Corp recorded 13.72 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N123.05 million 

GTCO reported 10.18 million shares valued at N243.95 million exchanged investors’ hands.
