In a release made available by his brother Hector Okposo, the dates for his funeral rites will be made public even as the family asks for solitude to grief for their departed.

“It is with a heavy heart  but with total submission to God that I announce the passing of our beloved Husband, brother, Unlce, Minister of God, Sammie Okposo.

Sammie slept and went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday November 25, 2022.

“We are consoled because we know that he is with Jesus singing with angels. We kindly request that the family is allowed to grieve peacefully at this time.

“More details about the burial will be communicated soon,” the statement further stated.

Okposo slumped before he passed on a few hours later on Friday. He was aged 51.

Okposo released several chart busters and also won a couple of awards for his service to humanity and contributions to the entertainment industry especially in the gospel genre.

Following the furore caused by his relationship with a lady in the United States of America, Okposo temporarily took a break from his music and ministerial callings until what he called “total restoration.”
