Stock Market: Investors Make N709.73 billion, As Living Trust, Transcorp Top Trades

Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

The Nigerian stock exchange maintained its bull’s position on Wednesday after the market capitalisation appreciated by 2.9 per cent from the N24.47 trillion it closed previous trading day with.

After trading hours on November 23, the market capitalisation closed with N25. 18 trillion, adding N709.73 billion to the total investment value of stock investors.

The All-Share Index jumped from 44,929.33 ASI to 46,232.37 ASI, adding 1303.04 basis points to its value.

On Wednesday, investors exchanged 187.90 million shares, worth N1.84 billion, in 3,458 deals. 

It fell short of the N3.85 billion traded in 3,383 deals on Tuesday, to exchange 126.56 million shares 

Top five gainers

Secure Electronic Technology share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.20kobo to N0.22kobo per share.  

Dangote Cement grew by N23.80kobo, up from N238.50kobo to N262.30kobo per share.  

BUA Cement ended trading with N79 from N72 per share, rising by N7. 

Cornerstone gained 9.09 per cent to end trading at N0.48kobo, having opened with N0.44kobo. 

Prestige stock was up by 8.11 per cent closing with N0.40kobo from N0.37kobo per share. 

Top five losers

SCOA depreciated by N0.12kobo, dwindling from N1.29kobo to N1.17kobo per share.  

Royal Exchange also fell by 8.97 per cent to end trading at N0.71kobo, after opening with N0.78kobo per share.  

Eterna followed the same path, losing N0.27kobo after trading hours, to sell at N5.40kobo from N5.67kobo per share.  

Cutix reported a decline of N0.10kobo from previous day’s share price of N2.12kobo to end trading at N2.02 per share. 

Chams share depreciated to N0.22kobo from N0.23kobo, after losing 4.35 per cent during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

Living Trust reported 30.11 million shares valued at N43.05 million were traded on its floor.  

Transcorp recorded 26.53 million shares valued at N31.46 million.  

Access Corp saw investors trade 16.39 million of its shares valued at N139.57 million.  

Ecobank recorded 12.11 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N121.17 million.  

GTCO reported 11.54 million shares valued at N233.58 million exchanged investors’ hands.
