Tuchel Proud Of Chelsea Feats Despite Sack

September 11, 2022

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel on Sunday penned an emotional letter to fans of the club, the players he worked with and owners of the club following his shock sack last week Wednesday.

The former Borussia Dortmund and PSG manager was relieved of his job a day after his team lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb after Matchday 1 in the UEFA Champions League.

In an official Statement on his verified social media pages, Tuchel said:

“This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write – and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end.

“This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start.

Tuchel subtly aimed a thinly veiled attack on his former employers who decided to sack despite his fears at the club.

“The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart, ” the German emphasisedwith a heart emoji. 💙

England youth international Carney Chukwuemeka was one of the new players that arrived at Stamford Bridge to work with Tuchel but Nigeria-eligible midfielder sold to the Blues by Aston Villa for £20m but will rather develop his game under the tutelage of  former Brighton mamager Graham Potter.
