Nigeria’s medals rush at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham has begun as Aruna Quadri got the better of South Africa’s Jones Shoun in the individual tennis men’s event of the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Friday morning with a three set wins of 11-6, 11-3, 12-10 reports Prime Business Africa.

In the Men’s Double, Nigeria’s duo of Omeh Amodi and Omotayo Olahide defeated South Africa’s Cogil Theo and Natho C. O in three straight sets of 11-5,11-5, 11-5 to qualify for the next round.

In the Women’s Doubles, Nigeria’s duo of Bello Fatimoh and Effiong Edem defeated their opponents, Velox and Cumberbatch from St Vincent and The Grenadines 11-6, 11-2, 11-5.
