The 48-year old actress came to limelight for her role in the 1996 blockbuster movie Domitilla directed by veteran director Zeb Ejiro.

The movie also starred other big Nollywood acts like Ann Njemanze, Sandra Achums, Sunny Mc-don W and Chris Erakpotobor among others.

Before her death, she serenaded viewers with her role in the television drama series, The Johnsons on African Magic.

Prime Business Africa got in touch with two of her colleagues and friends, Mercy Aigbe and Bimbo Ogunboye (best known as Lepacious Bose) for their reactions.

Aigbe was at a movie location when Prime Business Africa called her and was apparently distraught. She could only plead to speak with the online newspaper later.

“My brother, I cannot speak now please. I will try and call you later. I’m on location. It’s heartbreaking what has happened but not now,” the usually cheerful Aigbe said tersely.

Lepacious Bose also spoke similarly amid tears heard in the background.

“At the moment, we are mourning. Not just the death of Ada but also aunty Sola Onayiga.

“There must be other times for this please. It’s still shocking to me,” the actress and commediane told Prime Business Africa.

Sola Onayiga Prime Business Africa gathered passed away on Monday afternoon at the ICU Unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital after two weeks of treatment for an illness.

The actress played the popular character of Ireti in the sitcom Fuji House of Commotion produced by Moving Movies Limited which was founded by late movie legend Amaka Igwe.
