Sterling will sign a five-year contract with Chelsea with the option of an additional year.

Chelsea are currently working through the logistics of organising his medical in London and if all goes well with the procedures, the England international will join the Blues in their pre season tour of the United States.

Meanwhile Chelsea are also negotiating with City on a separate deal for their former defender Nathan Ake.

With the departures of Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and possibly Caesar Azplicueta, Chelsea are currently depleted in their defensive ranks.

City it is understood want almost the same fee they paid for Ake in August 2020, around the £41m mark. The Dutch international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues.
