Ekweremadu and his wife appeared in the court on Thursday following their arrest last month over the allegation of conspiracy to harvest organ of Ukpo, an indigene of Ebonyi State for their daughter who has complications and needed kidney transplant.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges against them as the case has been transferred to the Central Criminal Court.

The court adjourned till August 4 and ordered that Ekweremadu and wife be remanded until the next hearing.

The admittance of Ukpo, the alleged donor victim, that he is 21, has laid to rest the issue of under-aged.

Counsel to the defendant also denied the allegations of exploitation laid by Ukpo.
