National Chairman of National Consultative Front (NCFront), Third Force Movement, Prof Pat Utomi, will storm Labour Party Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, 26th May 2022 to meet party leaders.
According to a statement signed by the NCFront spokesperson, Ms Bilikis Bello the meeting will be by 11.30am.
Prof. Utomi who is the convener of the Big Tent Coaltion, is expected to discuss the Rescue Agenda of the Third Force Mega Movement for Nigeria with the party leaders, and “may also Pick the Presidential Nomination Form of the Labour Party in the course of his visit tomorrow,” Bello stated.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe Third Force Movement had few days ago announced it’s adoption of Labour Party as a platform for the Big Tent Coalition to contest against the main political parties (APC and PDP) in the 2023 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday 24 May to clarify issues on the adoption of Labour Party for the coalition, the movement noted that pressure has been mounted on Utomi to pick the presidential nomination form and contest under LP.
The group explained that adopting Labour Party for the coalition was due to favourable disposition of the allies and partners in labour movements and civil society organisations towards the party.
The statement partly read, “we wish to reiterate that our adoption of the Labour Party as 3rd Force Mega Party for the 2023 elections was largely inspired by the positive disposition to Labour Party by our Partners and Allies in the Labour Movement and in the organised Civil Society and their reassuring actions after several consultations and meetings over the fusion of our structures with the Labour Party.
“The NCFront also wishes to clarify that though there’s a strong plan, which is now in the advance stage, to carefully shortlist about seven to nine Political Parties, among those that have engaged us in several merger and fusion talks since July 2021, to present a single line of candidates in the 2023 elections, no Political Party was mentioned in our last Statement to have been shortlisted for the historic Mega Electoral Alliance planned to commence after Party Primaries.”
