Obi Of Onitsha Denies Calling On Igbos In North To Return Home

His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe has denied issuing any statement calling on every Igbo living in the North to come back home.

In a statement issued by the Chief of Staff, Ime Obi Onitsha, Chinyelugo Anionwu, the Achebe said the statement is fake and should be disregarded.

The statement reads, “The attention of Ime Obi Onicha palace has been drawn to a statement to the effect that His Majesty, Nnaemeka Achebe, Agbogidi, Obi of Onitsha has called on every Igbo living in the North to come back home immediately.

The statement which has gone viral on social media is fake and should be discountenanced.”

The said statement purported to have come from Achebe has been circulating on social media platforms that he asked all Igbos residing in the north to come home immediately to save their lives.
