APC Extends Sale Of Nomination Forms

May 4, 2022

To give opportunity to every aspirant, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended the sale of nomination forms for all elective positions from May 6 to May 10.

Consequently, the party has also extended date for submission of forms from May 10 to May 11.

According to a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, the changes were made in a revised timetable issued by the party National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

Observers said the extension might not be unconnected with the two-day public holiday for Eid-el-Fitr which made many aspirants who intended to purchase the forms unable to do so as commercial banks that would process their payments were closed.

This is also coupled with the fact that every aspirant that purchases forms, is expected to get at least two guarantors who are party leaders for endorsement and other conditions.

Reportedly, it was the worry of encroachment of the two-day public holiday on the party timetable that made former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who was on Lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia to send his aid on Friday to procure the form on his behalf.

Ribadu wants to contest for position of governor in his state of Adamawa in the Northeast, Nigeria.

Morka also stated that all congresses to elect Local Government Area (LGA), State and National Delegates will now be held from Thursday 12th May to Saturday, 14th May, 2022.
