Social Democratic Party SDP Presidential aspirant, Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi was live on Arise TV Wednesday to speak on her presidential hopes and expressed confidence that her party will arouse interest in policies in the Nigerian youth which she represents.

Okunnu-Lamidi is the Chairman Executive Officer (CEO) of Slice Media Solutions. She is a Nigerian media personality and daughter of former commissioner, Lateef Olufemi Okunnu, SAN.

She spoke to the Aside crew as monitored by Prime Business Africa on why she was conspicuously absent in many consultations by other running aspirants and why she did not attend the invitation by first Lady, Dame Aisha Buhari at the Aao rock.

“Our campaign is basically because we are a young demographic and representing two major Constituencies; the young people and the older generation.

“I have not done much of the physical consultations. Now, our campaign structure is more virtual because the youth generally are the most emm connected, the most educated and the most informed in history and that has allowed us to connect better.

“We are able to rather than use the regular brick and mortar method we are able to go faster using the virtual method and get through our campaign a bit easier.

“However you also have to use an Orthodox method. In short, we do have people in the younger generation that our our focus is on as well but they have not just been included into the political space.

“They have been disillusioned for so long and my candidacy kind of arouses many people’s interest and many people’s pathway back into the political scene. The fact that we are disillusioned doesn’t mean that we have lost interest in politics. That’s one.

“And then, Madam Aisha Buhari, I think she did have a good course for calling for inclusion in the political space. However I don’t think I received that Iftar Ramadan invitation.

“My candidacy brought out the need for more youths in politics,” Okunnu-Lamidi further stressed.
