Nigeria’s local content regulator and Bayelsa State have renewed their partnership ahead of the 2026 Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum, with organisers introducing new programmes aimed at expanding opportunities for local contractors and young people in the oil and gas industry.

NCDMB General Manager of Corporate Communications Obinna Ezeobi said the board appreciated the state government’s support over the past 15 years, including its role in hosting the opening banquet and supporting the Youth PNC programme.

The initiative exposes young people in the Niger Delta to opportunities in the oil and gas industry and skills applicable to other sectors of the economy.

DMG Events outlined new elements of this year’s programme, including a Local Content Roundtable on Nov. 30 and a two-day programme for Local Community Contractors designed to help them expand their operations. A breakout session will also seek stakeholders’ views on the direction of Nigerian Content over the next decade.

Akpe pledged continued state government support, including adequate security and participation in the main conference and Youth PNC. He also called for greater participation by senior oil and gas executives at the welcome gala dinner.

The PNC Forum, organised annually by NCDMB and DMG Events, provides a platform for industry stakeholders to review local content implementation and discuss investment and growth opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

This year’s edition is expected to focus on strengthening local participation and increasing value retention within the Nigerian economy.
