The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, reached N106.44 trillion on Wednesday, January 21.
According to data from the NGX, the stock market’s capitalisation jumped by N6.87 billion from the N106.43 trillion reported on Tuesday, January 20.

The number of deals sealed was 43,548 after equity traders exchanged 822.73 million shares worth N24,93 billion, compared to the previous day’s 795.45 million shares traded in 45,410 deals, valued at N19.97 billion.
Top five gainers
- RT Briscoe’s share price increased by N0.45 kobo to rise from N4.50 kobo to N4.95 kobo per share.
- NCR’s share value grew by N15.55 kobo, from N155.50 kobo to N171.05 kobo per share.
- MCNichols ended trading at N6.93 kobo per share, from N6.30 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.63 kobo.
- Jaiz Bank gained N0.72 kobo to end trading at N7.93 kobo, having opened with N7.21 kobo.
- May & Baker’s share value was up by N3.95 kobo, after closing at N43.65 kobo from N39.70 kobo per share.

- Lotus Hal15’s share price depreciated by N11.20 kobo, dwindling from N112.20 kobo to N101 per share.
- UPDC REIT recorded a N0.90 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N8.40 kobo after opening with N9.30 kobo per share.
- Champion Brew lost N1.95 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N19 from N20.95 kobo per share.
- NSLTECH recorded a 6.78 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N1.10 kobo after opening with N1.18 per share.
- Wapic reported a decline of N0.24 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N3.59 kobo to end trading at N3.35 kobo per share.

- ZICHIS Agro reported that 69.22 million shares valued at N150.90 million were traded on its floor.
- NSLTECH recorded 54.79 million shares valued at N61.91 million.
- Access Holdings saw investors trade 40.11 million of its shares valued at N917.76 million.
- Zenith Bank recorded 38.11 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.74 billion.
- Tantalizer reported that traders exchanged 33.06 million shares valued at N125.97 million.
