NAF Airstrikes Destroy Major Terrorist Stronghold in Zamfara

November 15, 2025

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision airstrikes on a high-ground terrorist hideout in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, destroying key structures and neutralising several fighters in one of its most decisive operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The strikes were conducted on 14 November after intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions identified the Sauri bandit camp as a major hub for terrorist activity and rustled livestock. According to the NAF, the location served both as a defensive shelter and a logistics base for criminal groups operating across the area.

Multiple coordinated strike passes were executed on the site, with direct hits reportedly forcing surviving terrorists to flee into nearby vegetation, where they were tracked and further engaged by air assets.

The Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation significantly disrupted the group’s capabilities.

He stated that the success of the mission aligns with the resolve of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has repeatedly pledged that the Air Force will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

The interdiction mission, Ejodame added, forms part of sustained efforts to deny terrorists safe havens in the North West and to support wider national initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability across Zamfara State.

The NAF said Operation FANSAN YAMMA will continue to intensify targeted strikes as part of joint operations with other security agencies to dismantle criminal networks in the region.
