Valuation Of Nigerian Stock Market Rises To N76.97trn — Up By N220bn

At the end of trading on Wednesday, July 9, the equity capitalisation of the Nigerian stock market rose to N76.97 trillion, from N76.75 trillion on Tuesday, July 8.

The market capitalisation increased by N220 billion after the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 335.74 basis points from 121,653.93 ASI to 121,989.67 ASI.

The volume of shares traded on Wednesday fell to 888.70 million, which were traded in 24,303 deals, worth N15.60 billion, compared to the over 1 billion shares exchanged on Tuesday in 24,770 deals, valued at N19.48 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Chams’ share price increased by N0.25 kobo, to rise from N2.50 kobo to N2.75 kobo per share.
  • Omatek’s share value grew by N0.11 kobo, from N1.10 kobo to N1.21 kobo per share.
  • Ellah Lakes ended trading at N10.45 kobo per share, from N9.50 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.95 kobo.
  • Enamelware gained N1.85 kobo to end trading at N20.35 kobo, having opened with N18.50 kobo.
  • C&I Leasing’s share value was up by N0.66 kobo, after closing at N7.26 kobo from N6.60 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Legend Internet’s share price depreciated by N0.70 kobo, dwindling from N8.70 kobo to N8 per share.
  • Guinea Insurance recorded a 7.14 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N1.04 after opening with N1.12 kobo per share.
  • Eterna lost N2 in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N41 from N43 per share.
  • ETranzact reported a decline of N0.40 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N9 to end trading at N8.60 kobo per share.
  • Regal Insurance recorded a 4.35 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.88 kobo after opening with N0.92 kobo per share.

  • Japaul Gold reported that 137.33 million shares valued at N410.88 million were traded on its floor.
  • Access Holdings recorded 83.03 million shares valued at N1.84 billion.
  • AIICO saw investors trade 50 million of its shares valued at N95.26 million.
  • Universal Insurance recorded 41.94 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N30.51 million.
  • Ellah Lakes reported 31.93 million shares valued at N330.97 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
