Armed Policemen In Soup Over Angela Okorie’s Viral Video

A number of armed Nigeria Policemen stand the risk of severe disciplinary action after they were caught in a viral video escorting controversial actress Angela Okorie while she was jogging.

The video, which has generated a lot of interest off and on the social media Primebusiness.africa gathered has become a subject of investigation by the Nigeria Police.

The Force, in a statement on Wednesday, posted on its X handle and signed by spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the incident does not align with its professional standards.

Adejobi described the officers’ conduct as falling short of the discipline and decorum expected of personnel.

“The Nigeria Police Force strongly frowns at the conduct of armed police officers seen in a viral video trailing actress Angela Okorie while she jogged, an act considered clearly inconsistent with the professional standards and decorum expected of personnel of the Force.

“The incident, which appears to have occurred on or around a movie set, has also sparked widespread public concern and criticism,” the statement read.

Adejobi said that although the video appeared to have been shot on or near a movie set, it had sparked public concern and criticism.

“Accordingly, necessary administrative processes have been initiated to identify the officers involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the video, while appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the review,” he said.

The actress, known for her intermittent bizarre submissions, is yet to comment on the viral video and the controversy it is generating.

This is coming when the dust over her recent submission on marriage and romantic relationship is yet to settle.

The single mother of one only recently took to her Instagram to declare that any man wanting to date or marry her will have to pay a billion naira upfront.

She wrote: “A male friend of mine said, ‘Angela, any guy wey you go date or marry you, we go investigate am for 2 years before you go gree… He will pay artists fee every day before he go talk to you else we no go gree o…’

So note that before dating or marriage you will pay a billion naira. Before relationship, I don’t care if people say I am selling my love, Yes am selling my love o.”

Netizens did not however waste time to respond to her conditions with some describing it as a huge joke why others blame it on loneliness that needs to be addressed.

Beauty fades, and I hope many young girls will not be using this as a yardstick for themselves. Else you’ll learn the hard way” he posted.

Angela Okorie who was born and raised in Cotonou, Benin Republic has featured in over 100 films since making her debut in 2009. Some the films the graduate of theatre arts and Public Administration has featured in, include Agaracha the Lioness, Thanks for Coming and Palace of Vampire.
