Galatasaray are not considered top contenders to sealing a deal with the Napoli striker amidst several options that are yet to materialise.

But the club remains optimistic that they equally stand a chance to retain the former Lille star who made instant impact in the club winning the Turkish League and the Turkish Cup within his short stay.

Now, according to Turkish journalist, Ali Naci Küçük, Osimhen has laid down clear conditions before considering an extended stay at the Turkish Super Lig champions.

One of those conditions was the signing of high-profile players, a demand that led to Galatasaray securing Germany international Leroy from Bayern Munich.

Galatasaray dreams Osimhen stay

“Just like Mauro Icardi said when he joined, ‘If we are building a strong team, I will stay,’ Osimhen used the same sentence,” Küçük revealed.

Sané is expected to join Galatasaray on a three-year contract after his Bayern Munich deal expires on June 30.

The former Manchester City winger has reportedly agreed to a net salary of €9 million per season, along with a €3 million loyalty bonus.

There’s a possibility Sané could still feature for Bayern at the FIFA Club World Cup currently underway in the United States before making the switch.

Galatasaray, eager to keep Osimhen after his remarkable loan spell, where he scored 37 goals and registered 8 assists in 41 appearances, have offered him a staggering €14 million per season, including bonuses.

Yet, the former African Footballer of the Year is said to be taking his time with the decision.

“Galatasaray is in a hurry, but Osimhen is not,” Küçük added. “The player needs to be treated with understanding.”

While Galatasaray remain hopeful, competition for the Nigerian forward’s signature is intense.

Transfer insider, Valentin Furlan, revealed that eight elite clubs, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus, and Galatasaray, have approached Osimhen in recent days.

The Napoli star is currently enjoying a holiday would have ordinarily been on duty for either Manchester United or Chelsea at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, if one of them had seized the opportunity of special transfer window offered by FIFA ahead of the Club World Cup to sign him.

Recall that Galatasaray recently put one of their training grounds in the market with a view to raising enough money to battle other contenders seeking to have Osimhen in the fold.
