Anambra Police Arrest Four Suspects Over Threats Of Kidnapping, Violence In Ihiala

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested four suspects for criminal acts of threatening innocent individuals with kidnapping and violence in Ihiala area of the state.

The four suspects are Chimezie Ezebuo, Chinaza Ndimani, Chinecherem Okafor and Nzube Azubuike, all males and from Okohia in Ihiala.

According to a statement by the Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, Toochukwu Ikenga, the suspects were arrested by police operatives on Thursday, 10th April 2025, following a painstaking investigation by the Joint Security Force in Ihiala, based on information received over time.

Ikenga said their action of threatening kidnapping/Abduction, violence, and cyberstalking to innocent individuals “has serious implications in jeopardising the security of the State.

“The Operatives recovered Phones and SIM cards used by the suspects to threaten their victims, thereby causing panic in the area and jeopardizing the efforts of the Security Agencies and the general security of the State,” Ikenga stated.

He added that the suspects confessed to the crime and were taken into custody for further interrogations.

While noting that there is improved Security in Ihiala, the State Police Command commended the people of Ihiala for their cooperation and resilience in identifying the bad elements in the area.

“The State Police Command remains committed to maintaining public safety and ensuring that individuals are held accountable for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace,” the statement added.
